Jazmine Sullivan

JazmineJazmine Jacobson was born in and lived at home in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Pam the mother of Jazmine was once a backing singer at Philadelphia International Records. In the year she turned 5 of age, her dad landed job as curator at the city's Historic Strawberry Mansion in the Strawberry Mansion section, and her family moved into the mansion's historical site. In 2005 she was a graduate of the Philadelphia High School for the Creative and Performing Arts as a major in vocal music. Sullivan began her singing career as a contralto with the children's choirand a few years later in the adult group. Sullivan's exposure to secular music was at first limited "I did solos in the church and was approached by someone to sign to a gospel label when I was 11 years old, but I wasn't ready to do that," she recalls. After that, McDonald's held a contest for children in large cities. I was allowed to sing "Accept The Grace God Gives" during it's Showtime At the Apollo. And the crowd responded very well. Stevie Wonder sang her part on his birthday, 13 years old. Sullivan At the age of 15 was signed for the first time to Jive Records. Sullivan was initially signed by Jive Records in the year fifteen. The singer-songwriter produced an entire album. However, this album didn't get released. Sullivan was then eliminated by the label. Missy Elliott was her producer on a couple of tracks from Her debut album. For instance "Backstabbers" was a viral track written by Timbaland, was written by Elliott.
